Privacy Policy

Our October doesn't have sign-in of any kind. There's no username, password, email address, or profile tied to your use of the app. Everything you enter -- counts, notes, weather, costume photos -- lives only in the app's storage on your own phone.

The app sends a small amount of anonymous usage data: a random device identifier and basic app interactions (for example, that the counter was tapped, or that a Recap Card was shared). This data is collected but not linked to your identity in any way -- we can't connect it back to you, your name, or your email address. We never collect, see, or store your counts, notes, captions, or costume photos.

Costume Wall photos are copied into the app's own storage on your device when you add them. They are never uploaded to a server, never seen by us, and never leave your phone. If you use your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google backup), your photos ride along with that, the same as any other app's data -- that backup is between you and Apple or Google, not us.

Our October Pro and tips are processed by Apple's App Store (and Google Play, once Android is available) and RevenueCat, which handles purchase validation on our behalf. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened, not your payment details -- we never see or store card numbers or billing information.

If you turn on the optional Halloween reminder, your phone schedules a local notification. This doesn't involve sending anything to us.

Some links in the app and on this site (for candy, bowls, and porch decor) are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed wherever those links appear.

This website (ouroctober.app) uses only the minimal cookies needed for it to function -- no advertising or tracking cookies. The app itself doesn't use cookies.

Our October is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect any information from them -- the anonymous usage data described above isn't personal information and isn't collected from anyone by name or age.

The limited anonymous usage data described above is stored on infrastructure located in the United States.

Because there are no accounts, there's no server-side data tied to you to access or delete. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device, including all photos, counts, and notes. If you have any question about what we do or don't collect, reach out any time.
