What does Our October actually do?
It gives you one small Halloween thing to do each day in October. You do it, tap done, and keep a photo if you want to. On November 1 the month closes and becomes a page you keep, so next year you can look back at it.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in of any kind, and nothing you put in leaves your phone. Your photos, your names, and your month all stay on the device.
What if we miss days?
Nothing happens. There are no streaks, no broken chains, and nothing turns red. Nobody does all thirty-one, and the app is not built to make you feel behind. Skipping a day is a normal answer.
What if a day doesn't work for us?
Tap Swap for three alternatives, or write your own. The app also asks four short questions when you first open it -- where you're celebrating, who's in on it, what you do on the night, and anything to keep in mind -- and uses those to pick the version of each day that suits your household. You can change those answers any time in Settings.
We live in an apartment. Is this for us?
Yes. Tell it you're in an apartment during setup and the days adjust: the pumpkin patch becomes a grocery store pumpkin vote, decorating the front of the house becomes the door and a window facing out, and so on. Same for no car, tight budget, food allergies, and keeping things easy on the legs.
What if it's raining?
Outdoor days have a one-tap indoor alternative. The app doesn't check the weather, because that would mean asking for your location, and the whole point is that nothing leaves your phone. You can see out of a window.
Is it the same list every year?
Mostly, and that's deliberate. Traditions are repetition -- carving a pumpkin again is the point, not a failure of imagination. The order changes every year because the app puts bigger activities on weekends and the calendar shifts, a handful of days rotate, and any swaps you make carry forward.
What does Pro unlock?
Every past October you've kept, a page for each person across the years, and exporting a year. This year is always free, in full -- the current month is never paywalled.
Where do my photos go?
Into the app on your phone, and nowhere else. They are copied into the app's own storage rather than linked from your camera roll, so tidying your library later will not break your October.
How do I get a refund?
Pro is a one-time purchase through the App Store, so refunds go through Apple directly rather than through us. The Refund page has the steps.
I have a different question.
Email ouroctober@appsthathelp.com any time. A person reads it.
